GIA LAI (Biz Hub) — The Gia Lai Sugar-Thermal Power Joint Stock Company (SEC) plans to raise the daily production capacity from 3,200 tonnes of sugarcane to 3,500 tonnes from April.
Deputy-general director Nguyen Van Luong confirmed this on Monday. Therefore, the power production of its combined thermal power plant will increase from 12 to 34.6 megawatts.
The company has been providing electricity produced from bagasse for the national grid since 2009. According to the Viet Nam Sugar Association, electricity produced from bagasse is a renewable energy resource which has great potential. — VNS
