Samsung plans to invest in Viet Nam's power industry

HA NOI — Samsung Asia Pte.Ltd –the South Korean mobile phone group plans to pour its money in Viet Nam's power sector, the portal of Viet Nam's customs reported.

In details, Samsung will invest in one of Viet Nam's hydropower plants in the Central or South of Viet Nam. It this month, the group will make its survey in 5 hydropower plants in the Central and the South to choose the suitable project, the Customs' portal reported, citing information from the Energy Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).

Samsung and consulting unit-Energy Department are expected to conduct a survey at 5 hydropower plants, including Quynh Lap 2 Power Plant in Nghe An Province, Vung Ang 3 Power Plant in Ha Tinh Province, Quang Trach 2 Power Plant in Quang Binh Province, Hau River 3 Power Plant in Hau Giang Province, and Kien Luong power plant in Kien Giang Province.

Earlier in the document No.6398/VPCP-QHQT dated Aug 1, 2013, the Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai assigned MoIT to study and select one power project to cooperate with the Samsung Group.—Stockplus
