DA NANG (Biz Hub) — The central city has launched charter flights from Shanghai to Da Nang to boost tourism in the two cities.
The first flight from Shanghai landed in Da Nang on March 31, carrying 180 Chinese tourists who would be visiting Hoi An, My Son, Da Nang and Hue over five days, following a tourism cooperation programme between Viettravel and Chinese Spring Travel.
There will be two weekly chartered flights between Shanghai and Da Nang from April to July, and four weekly flights from July to October.
Last year, the central city's Tourism Association and the Chinese province of Guangdong signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation.
With two chartered flights a week to Guangzhou, the central city hosted 105,000 Chinese tourists last year.
Da Nang receives 18 international flights daily. Last year, it welcomed 3.1 million tourists of which over 730,000 were foreigners. — VNS
