The second Mini Thailand Week is showcasing outstanding Thai products in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

The event features 71 booths run by 61 Thai enterprises, representative offices, and distribution agents in Viet Nam.

On display are a variety of quality products from Thailand, including food and beverages, household products, garments, jewellery, health and beauty products, decorative items and souvenirs, travel services, and more.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Thai Ambassador Nikorndej Balankura said Thailand is Viet Nam’s biggest trading partner in ASEAN with bilateral trade reaching about US$21.5 billion in 2022, up $2.8 billion compared to the previous year.

He expressed his hope that the two countries can elevate trade value to $25 billion by 2025 as stated by leaders of the two sides.

For his part, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khang said the event holds great significance in bolstering the relations and economic cooperation between Viet Nam and Thailand in general and Quang Ninh with Thai localities while promoting trade activities and development.

Mini Thailand Week 2023 aims to promote bilateral trade activities between Vietnamese importers and Thai exporters and enhance mutual understanding between the two countries.

The event, which runs until Sunday, is being held by the Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Centre, the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the Office of Commercial Affairs under the Royal Thai Embassy in Ha Noi, the Royal Thai Government in cooperation with the Vietnam National Trade Fair, and the Advertising company (Vinexad) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. — VNS
