Korean strawberries have officially been licensed to be imported into Viet Nam by aT Centre Ha Noi, under the Korea Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

“In the context that Viet Nam is focusing on development of agriculture, food industry and diversification of food products for the people, that Korean strawberry products are licensed for quarantine and officially imported into Viet Nam will help Vietnamese consumers gain access to high-quality, safe and healthy Korean agricultural products,” Kim Dong-kwan, representative of aT Centre Ha Noi, said.

Because of different climatic conditions, products with trade exchange potential between Viet Nam and Korea are diverse and abundant. In the last five years, the commercial transaction value of agriculture, fisheries and food between the two countries has increased two-fold, up to US$1.9 billion.

aT Centre Ha Noi is responsible for the promotion of Korea agricultural-fisheries products and food through the organisation of product advertising programmes, free trial programmes, supporting Viet Nam businesses import food items from Korea and connecting enterprises of the two countries.

In Korea, strawberries are grown in smart farms with completely automated technology from cultivation to rearing to minimise the use of fertilizers and ensure products are safe in accordance with the Good Agricultural Practice standard. — VNS
