HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Tokyo-based CyberAgent Ventures Inc, the venture capital arm of CyberAgent Inc, poured capital into Jupviec.vn, a Viet Nam-based housekeeping services provider.
Jupviec.vn is the first household service startup to receive an investment from an overseas venture capital firm.
The total value of the Japanese firm's investment in the housekeeping company was not revealed.
Founded in 2012, Jupviec.vn currently serves more than 15,000 customers in Ha Noi. With this investment, it hopes to bring its services to HCM City and other cities in Viet Nam in 2016.
To ensure the quality of its service, the company has put into practice a centre for training the maids it hires, under the Research Centre for Gender, Family and Community Development, the report added.
Nguyen Manh Dung, representative of CyberAgent Ventures, was quoted as saying his company would help the business raise more money so it can expand its activities not only in Viet Nam but also in other Southeast Asian countries.
Dung said Jupviec.vn was a promising startup in the on-demand maid service field, helping create jobs and also meeting the huge demand amongst local families. — VNS
