The centre will cover 80ha in Song Hau Industrial Zone in Chau Thanh district. It will include a wharf area, goods storage and warehouse, along with a control building, support areas and roads.
In the period between 2017 and 2020, the centre will get a quay, warehouse and office to serve logistics activities on a 30-ha area.
According to Ho Thi Thu Hoa from the HCM City University of Transport, the centre has a favourable location owing to its proximity to many industrial parks and roads system connecting the Mekong Delta with key economic region and neighbouring countries.
Once operational, the centre will play a core role in goods distribution and transportation, boosting the socio-economic development of the whole region.
