The Ha Noi innovative business incubator of information technology (HBI-IT) was put into use on Monday on 185 Giang Vo Street.

It is designed to have an open space with a working area, a conference, an exhibition area and a place for community activities.

This is the first incubator in the information technology field set up by the municipal People’s Committee and managed by the city’s Department of Information and Communications.

The well-equipped incubator will gather accomplished IT entrepreneurs and experts who assist startups in running their businesses.

The launch of the incubator reflects the municipal authorities’ determination to build a startup ecosystem and support local startup businesses towards making Ha Noi an innovative startup capital, Vu Tan Cuong, director of the municipal information technology and communications trading centre, said.

On the occasion, several prestigious partners signed cooperation agreements with the incubator’s management board, including Microsoft Viet Nam, Ha Noi Telecom and CMC Telecom.

According to the strategic cooperation agreement between HBI-IT and Microsoft Viet Nam, Microsoft will provide support in terms of technology and technical solutions to startups participating in HBI-IT’s training programmes.

The two sides will also provide consultancy and coaching to potential projects and assist in their commercialisation.

“Microsoft worldwide and Viet Nam have committed to support governments and organisations to help people access knowledge and digital resources to contribute to sustainable development. The signing would help startups under HBI-IT develop better operations and stronger connections for a stable startup ecosystem,” Vu Minh Tri, general director of Microsoft Viet Nam, said. — VNS
