The capital city has granted management account codes to nearly 2,000 agricultural product enterprises to boost the use of QR codes to trace product origins.
The codes are an effective way for consumers to trace where agricultural products in Ha Noi originate. They can also help improve the control and management of product lines, market research and e-commerce.
Departments and agencies have also worked to link enterprises and production co-operatives in the city with the Centre for Integration and Development Enterprises to apply authentication processes for their goods.
At the same time, they also encouraged consumers to shop at modern places that allow shoppers to use personal electronic devices to scan QR codes to learn about product origins, prices and instructions for use.
Earlier, the Ha Noi Department of Industry and Trade issued a plan to promote the use of QR codes for online tracing of goods in the city.
Organisations, individuals and consumers can use these codes to determine origins and monitor the circulation and distribution of products.
The city can use them as a basis for developing policies for the management and development of specific goods and groups, especially for food products.
QR codes can also limit commercial fraud and the trading of products of unknown origins.
It also can help introduce and promote reputable and branded enterprises which comply with all production and business activity laws.
Online newspaper vietq.vn quoted Dao Ha Trung, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City High Technology Association, as saying that in the age of Industry 4.0 technology, product traceability is indispensable.
Traceability serves consumers, state management agencies and supply chains, he said.
More importantly, farmers can access technology quickly, and business prestige is also protected. — VNS
