Grab's volunteer activities support community

The ride-hailing company Grab Viet Nam has organised many volunteer activities to help the community this year.

In early May, Grab Viet Nam and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build bridges and develop transportfor students living in remote areasto go to school.

Starting on May 29, Grab users can allocate their GrabReward points and Grab will contribute the corresponding amount of money ranging from VND5,000 (US$0.22) to VND100,000 (US$4.3) per person to the project.

The project as of August had raised VND2.5 billion ($108,100).

Tran Thi Thanh Thao from Binh Chanh District, one of many customers who contributed to the project. She told VnExpress online newspaper that she has many GrabRewards points and could easily support the project.

In August, Grab began construction of two bridges in Vinh Long Province, and in October, it began construction of three more bridges in Ha Giang and Tien Giang provinces to meet the targets of the first year of the project.

The project was created in response to the criteria set by the national "new rural area" programme.

Grab has also taken part in many other volunteer activitiessuch as giving gifts and meals to students living in remote areas.

The activities are part of the company's "Technology for the Community" (#TechforGood) philosophy to bring positive contributions to the country and improve the quality of life for people.— VNS
