VIENTIANE (Biz Hub)— Viet Nam and Laos businesses gathered at a trade exchange in Vientiane, Laos on Friday seeking cooperation and investment partners and opportunities.

The exchange, part of the 2013 Laos – Viet Nam Exposition, saw the attendance of businesses from Laos and Viet Nam 's southern provinces of Dong Nai and Ben Tre.

Dong Nai businesses wanted to promote cooperation with the Lao side in the fields of handicraft, pharmaceuticals, and garment and textiles.

Meanwhile, those from Ben Tre province, which is strong in agriculture and aquaculture, hoped to find partners in processing and exporting fruit and aquatic products.

The Lao businesses said the two sides should study each other's markets and trading tradition so that their co-operation can go smoothly, contributing to achieving the target of US$2 billion in two-way trade by 2015. — VNS
