HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Bitexco Financial Tower (BFT) in HCM City has been listed as one of the world's 25 most iconic skyscrapers by travel and lifestyle website CNNGo.
Standing 262m tall with 68 storeys in HCM City's District 1, the tower was featured by the website thanks to its striking design, which makes the building looks like the bud of a lotus flower.
The websites says its list of top skyscrapers brings together buildings that "are not the tallest buildings in the world, they aren't the prettiest buildings in the world, they aren't even the most successful, but they are among the most iconic, representing their designers and their cities as memorably as anything else."
Although the towering 262m structure may no longer be the tallest building in Viet Nam, its unique architectural features facilities such as a heli-pad (the first in Viet Nam) which cantilevers from its 52nd floor and reflects the bold and intrepid nature of a forward-looking Viet Nam, according to the site
Others buildings on the list include the Empire State Building in New York, Commerzbank Headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, The Shard in London, Elephant Tower in Bangkok, Burj al Arab in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and Taipei 101 in Taiwan. — VNS
