SYDNEY (Biz Hub) — Australia will appoint an agriculture consultant and experts' team in Viet Nam in 2014, as it aims to boost its farm produce exports to 45 per cent by 2025.
The news was released by Australian Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Joe Ludwig on Wednesday.
The personnel posted to Viet Nam will bridge ties between the Australian ministry, international organisations and emerging trade partners and will seek new opportunities for local food producers.
According to the Australian National Food Plan, the country spent nearly US$6 million last year on funding agriculture consultants and officials in 15 countries worldwide, including the US, Japan, Thailand, India and Indonesia. — VNS
