SCG, a leading group of Thailand, unveiled its latest product for tomorrow's living, ‘Bloom: The Room for Living', the world's largest and ASEAN's first cement innovation that enables 3D printing on cement. SCG developed the product in co-operation with the University of California, Berkeley, in the United States.
"This is testament to the fact that the obstacles and limitations of 3D printing technology for architecture can be overcome, and can take the ASEAN construction industry to the next level," Anuvat Chalermchai, brand manager of SCG Cement-Building Materials, said.
Spread over 1,500sq.m at the exhibition, the SCG display offers various housing solutions, including green buildings, roofing, flooring and walls, besides ceilings.
In order to prevent and reduce accidents among the elderly, the company offers its Eldercare Solution, which, for example, considers the physical force of a person's arms and measurements for designing suitable bathrooms and sanitary ware.
Another solution is for reducing household energy costs with the help of its Solar Eco System that converts solar energy into electricity.
"We continue to create new products and innovations to respond to the ASEAN people's needs. We are preparing a foundation with an expert team, technical services and partners to support the extension of the technology," Anuvat said.
The group plans to participate in the Vietbuild Exhibition in June in Viet Nam to introduce its products for the harmonious lifestyles of the Vietnamese people.
Among other exhibitors, the Champaca Company offers wood sourced from sustainable and well-managed forests, with a commitment to conserve natural resources. The timber is meant for maximum usage to prevent wastage.
GRM Thailand supplies ‘biowood', a wood-plastic composite material, made of 70 per cent plantation forest wood and 30 per cent additives and plastic. The benefits of using this material include water and insect resistance, longevity and recyclability.
