HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has unveiled a draft plan to set up 11 parks across the country by 2020 to research and innovate agricultural technologies.

The hi-tech agricultural parks (HTAPs) will be built in eight regions.

The 11 are the Thai Nguyen HTAP in the north-eastern region, Son La NTAP in the north-west, the Hai Phong and Nam Dinh HTAPs in the Red River Delta, the Thanh Hoa and Nghe An HTAPs in the north-central region, the Phu Yen HTAP on the central coast, the Lam DONG HTAP in the Central Highlands, the iinh Duong HTAP in the south-east, and the Hau Giang and Tien Giang HTAPs in the Mekong Delta.

According to the tentative master plan for their development, at least 60 per cent of each of the parks must be earmarked for research and experimentation and display of agricultural models that use high technologies.

The parks will undertake scientific and technological activities, train human resources, and innovate agricultural technologies. — VNS
