West Coach Station Joint Stock Company (WCS), a prominent operator of bus terminals, has announced a profit of VNĐ20 billion (US$785,000) for the second quarter, marking its highest profit level since 2015.
In the first half of the fiscal year, WCS achieved a total revenue of nearly VNĐ78.5 billion, accompanied by a post-tax profit of VNĐ39.4 billion.
These figures represent year-on-year increases of 14 per cent and 22 per cent, respectively.
The surge in revenue is primarily attributed to the integration of new transportation enterprises and the introduction of additional routes, which collectively enhanced both bus operations and passenger volumes.
In addition, strategic adjustments to parking and shuttle service fees have also played a role in this growth.
Last year, the company reported revenue of VNĐ140 billion, with a post-tax profit of VNĐ66.5 billion, up 75 per cent compared to 2022.
Shareholders are set to receive a cash dividend of 160 per cent, equating to VNĐ16,000 per share.
WCS has set a target this year to manage over 9.4 million departing passengers and 449,000 bus trips, with an expected revenue of VNĐ160.5 billion and a post-tax profit of VNĐ68.8 billion.
