HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares rose this morning on the HCM City Stock Exchange thanks to the gains made by several large-cap stocks, but fell on the northern bourse due to sluggish trading.
The VN-Index added 0.28 per cent to close at 567.52 points on the trading of a modest 26.7 million shares. The trading value reached only VND452.5 billion or US$21.5 million as investors were not willing to engage in trading.
With nine gainers and seven losers, the VN30-Index added 0.2 per cent to finish at 611.22 points, due to large-cap stocks such as Vinamilk (VNM), PetroVietnam Drilling (PVD) and Da Nang Rubber Corporation (DRC).
The HNX-Index continued its five-day losing streak, falling by 0.16 per cent to end at 75.86 points, while the HNXFF-Index, comprising stocks with a minimum free float rate of 5 per cent, dropped by 0.17 per cent to close at 76.63 points.
The HNX30-Index, tracking top stocks, ended at 151.01 points, 0.18 per cent lower.
With 17.4 million shares changing hands, the trading value reached VND198 billion or $9.4 million. — VNS
