HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares rose this morning on the HCM City Stock Exchange thanks to the gains made by several large-cap stocks, but fell on the northern bourse due to sluggish trading.

The VN-Index added 0.28 per cent to close at 567.52 points on the trading of a modest 26.7 million shares. The trading value reached only VND452.5 billion or US$21.5 million as investors were not willing to engage in trading.

With nine gainers and seven losers, the VN30-Index added 0.2 per cent to finish at 611.22 points, due to large-cap stocks such as Vinamilk (VNM), PetroVietnam Drilling (PVD) and Da Nang Rubber Corporation (DRC).
