LANG SON (Biz Hub) – The Agricultural and Trade Fair of the Northeastern Region opened in this northern province last night with the theme "Enhancing added values and sustainable development."
The annual event, which the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development sponsored, aims to promote agriculture, fisheries and trade, as well as introduce new technologies in agricultural production and spread knowledge on food hygiene.
It is also a venue for managers, scientists, businesses and farmers to exchange ideas and experiences in the field, especially through forums on secure poultry raising in the northern mountain regions and sustainable development of major products.
The fair, which ends on September 29, is host to 250 stalls of Vietnamese and Chinese businesses and is divided into different areas, including one for agricultural books and food, new-style commune models and agricultural research institutes.
Visitors may buy special food from the northeastern region, including Tu Le sticky rice from Yen Bai Province, Bao Lam seedless persimmons from Lang Son, Tan Cuong tea from Thai Nguyen and Trung Khanh chestnuts from Cao Bang. – VNS
