The International Exhibition on Educational Technology, Information Technology, Equipment, Toys and School Supplies (BESS Vietnam) returns to HCM City on April 21-22 after a four-year gap due to COVID-19.

Speaking at a press briefing to introduce the expo last week, Sam Wood, the British deputy consul general in HCM City, said it would build on the successful inaugural edition of BESS Vietnam in 2019, which promoted educational technology solutions and school supplies.

“The show will provide an opportunity to showcase not only the latest classroom innovation and technology but also practical teaching and learning methods using technology including digital and print publishers, special education needs specialists, STEM and hands-on learning equipment, teacher training, and school leadership digital tools.”

Vu Anh Tuan, general secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA), said with its theme of "Education 4.0 to Industry 4.0," the expo would have 100 booths in which local and international companies specialising in sciences and technologies for education showcase their latest offerings.

BESS Vietnam in 2023 organised by the British Educational Suppliers Association and the HCA would have an EdTech zone to enable visitors to experience education technology through smart classrooms and seminars on education technology, including one on "Digital Transformation in Higher Education," he said.

It would give education managers, teachers and students the opportunity to experience educational technologies and smart classrooms, and meet local and international experts, he said.

Caroline Wright, president of the British Educational Suppliers Association, said: “This year, I am very proud to be leading the British delegation of 15 companies who cover a range of specialist areas including EdTech curriculum providers, STEM providers, assessment experts, and English language training solutions.

“We all look forward to meeting Vietnamese universities, schools and decision-makers during our visit to share mutual knowledge and educational experiences."

The exhibition will be held at the Tan Son Nhat Pavillon on Hoang Van Thu Street, Phu Nhuan District. — VNS
