The Indian Business Chamber in Viet Nam will organise blood donation drive this weekend in collaboration with the Viet Nam Red Cross.

It aims to spread a positive message about donating blood, a critical requirement in saving lives.

Incham said it has persuaded its members and their colleagues, friends and relatives to participate in the event.

Donors must be in good general health and at least 18 years old and weigh 45kg.

They should have a healthy meal and drink a lot of water before and after donating blood.

Blood donation is also good for donors’ health, helping reduce the risk of heart attack and cancer and cholesterol levels, according to experts.

All donors will be issued a donor card without a time limit that will enable them to get the same amount of blood they donate for free if they need it.

They will also get free health screening and blood tests for some major maladies.

The annual event will be held from 8am to 11am and 1pm to 3pm on August 18 at the Youth Culture Centre, No 4, Pham Ngoc Thach Street, District 1.

Incham is a non-profit organisation that represents Indian businesses and promotes relations between India and Viet Nam. — VNS
