HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Viet Nam Support Industries Forum will take place in the capital city on May 20, organizer Reed Tradex Co of Thailand announced late last week.

Under the theme, "Key Success for Support Industries; Towards the Hub of Production after the ASEAN Economic Community", this upcoming forum will offer visions, best practices and experiences by government and private sectors to allow participants to be ready for business opportunities and business development of Vietnamese industries through the strong network and collaboration of support industries.

"Currently, Viet Nam is the next destination for foreign investment in various sectors, while the crucial factors in discussions are still pinpointed to the development of support industries," said Duangdej Yuaikwarmdee, Viet Nam Deputy Managing Director and General Manager, Reed Tradex Co.

"Support industries play a key role in promoting the development of Viet Nam's main industries, since if this sector remains undeveloped, large foreign-invested companies will leave the country on default, due to local supplies. Therefore, the government's support is needed, while the private sectors should drive the collaboration in building up the network and help develop supporting industries to cover the value chains," he said. — VNS
