HA NOI (Biz Hub) — More than 800 professional and amateur golfers will compete in the FLC Golf Championship 2015 to be held November 14-16th in central Thanh Hoa Province.
This annual tournament, organised by FLC Group, will take place at the FLC Samson Golf Links - the first golf course designed by Nicklaus Design in Viet Nam.
The competition is expected to be the largest golf tournament ever held in Viet Nam and is being compared to a PGA event. Total cash and prizes are valued at VND60 billion (US$2.67 million), of which, winners of all par 3 holes are to be awarded a VND5 billion villa – FLC Residences Samson – and a VND3 billion car as a hole-in-one prize.
FLC Golf Championship 2015 will also award a luxury car prize for all 14 holes with Luu Duc Quang, head of the organising board, said officials expected to have 600 golfers compete. However, the number of those registering has reached 800, resulting in increasing the days for competing, as well as increasing the value of the prizes.
The tournament is expected to offer new experiences for golfers at the FLC Samson Beach & Golf Resort complex, with a total investment of VND6 trillion.
In addition, FLC's chairman, Trinh Van Quyet, revealed that leading Vietnamese professional golfer Tran Le Duy Nhat will attend the event.
The organizing board hopes to raise enough funds to build six cultural houses at the Quang Cu Commune in Thanh Hoa Province and donate VND150 million to the Com co thit (Rice with Meat) charity fund for poor children. — VNS
