HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Foundation Engineering and Underground Construction JSC (FECON) will host the third GEOTEC conference on November 24 and November 25 in Ha Noi.
Titled "Geotechnics for Sustainable Infrastructure Development", the conference is aimed at exchanging and updating information, knowledge, and experience on infrastructure design, foundation, and construction in order to ensure sustainability for all types of projects, especially in the context of Viet Nam's global integration and heightened concerns over climate change.
"In recent years, the role and importance of underground construction, foundations, and geotechnics have been increasingly highlighted at many national and international conferences," Pham Viet Khoa, chairman of FECON and chief organiser of GEOTEC Hanoi 2016, said.
"Beside the latest research projects on underground construction, foundations, and geotechnics, a great number of new problems have appeared on a local, national, and international scale," Khoa added.
The conference will present various high-quality science and technology reports on underground construction, foundations, and geotechnics, which will greatly benefit projects and the development of geotechnics in Vietnam.
Above all, the gains from GEOTEC Hanoi 2016 will contribute to a stable infrastructure.
500 participants are expected to attend, based on experience from previous conferences.
There is also an exhibition with 50 stalls introducing the latest technology in the industry.
The first and the second GEOTEC were held in 2011 and 2013, Fecon said who planned to host the conference once every three years. — VNS
