HCM CITY (Biz Hub) – Top business executives will interact with graduates and other youths at an international career and education expo that will be held for the first time in Viet Nam.
US-based human resources firm CareerBuilder's annual Career Builder Day – Career & and Education Expo, will be organised in HCM City this month and Ha Noi early next month.
Expected to attract more 10,000 visitors, it will see the participation of Pham Phu Ngoc Trai, chairman and general director of Global Integration Business Consultants, Dr Alan Phan, former chairman of VIASA Investment Fund, Than Trong Phuc, CEO of DFJ VinaCapital, and Ton Nu Thi Ninh, Viet Nam's former ambassador to the EU and Belgium.
The experts will share their experiences in management and improving soft skills with young visitors.
CareerBuilder and co-organiser Metan Vietnam said more than 60 companies including HSBC, VinGroup, Diageo, DHL, FPT Software, Bitexco, Megastar Media, Techcombank, and others would be on hand for recruitment.
Paul Nguyen, general director of CareerBuilder Vietnam, said supply of mid- and high-level personnel is scarce in the country, especially in retailing, banking, and manufacturing.
At least 1,000 vacancies would be offered to candidates at the event, he added.
CareerBuilder marked an important step in its Asian expansion with its recent acquisition of Viet Nam Online Network, which owns Kiemviec.com and HR Viet Nam.
The company now has a presence in 70 countries with 200 million registered candidates.
The events will be held on August 24 at White Palace in HCM City and on September 7 at Grand Plaza in the capital. — VNS
