Vietnamese architects and designers are encouraged to send their entries to the KOHLER Bold Design Awards (KBDA), an international design competition for hospitality, residential and commercial property professionals in the Asian region.

Projects located in Viet Nam which have been completed or are slated to be completed between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2019 are eligible for entry.

The competition consists of two categories: the Boldest Spaces for living, travel, leisure and green areas, and the Visionaries, including influencers, rising talents and people’s choice awards.

The Boldest Spaces awards will recognise spaces that provide a leading example of distinctive design in Viet Nam.

In addition, the green award will recognise the efforts to reduce ecological footprint and take advantage of reusable materials.

The Visionaries will honour influencers and new talents in fields of architecture, interior design and interior architecture in Viet Nam.

Meanwhile, the people’s choice award will call for a public vote after the announcement of nominees.

Participants may submit their entries at the website https://kbda-ap.com/ from October 17 to February 21.

They will be judged by a panel of six renowned international and local architects and designers.

They are David Rockwell, founder of the Rockwell Group in the US, Lillian Wu, founder and principal of Lillian Wu Studio in the US, and Andrew Bromberg, global design principal of Aedas Hong Kong.

Bill Bensley, founder of BENSLEY Studio in Thailand and Indonesia, Andrew Frost, founder and director of Darkhorse Architecture in Viet Nam and Le Truong, founder & CEO of TT-Associates in Viet Nam are included

The nominees will be announced on March 23, while the winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony in April 2020.

KBDA was organised by Kohler Co. in the Philippines in 2017 and Indonesia in 2018. It aims to discover and reward the best people in property design and innovation, and inspire them to innovate and develop projects in architecture and the design industry. – VNS
