Seventeen provinces and cities are displaying fruits and agricultural products at the 'Agricultural Products Week in Ha Noi' which is taking place at Big C Thang Long supermarket from May 30 to June 3.
This is the first farm produce week held in the capital this year to boost domestic consumption.
Lychees from Bac Giang, Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces; mangoes and plums from Son La Province; guava, papayas and aquatic products from Quang Ninh and Nam Dinh provinces are among the items on sale.
Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Department of Trade and Industry Tran Thi Phuong Lan said the event aims to boost consumption of Vietnamese agricultural products and facilitate co-operation between farmers, processors, Big C and other channels of distribution.
Nguyen Thi Phuong, vice director of Central Retail Corporation, said connecting producers to consumers is central to helping Vietnamese businesses access the international market.
She said the event would help businesses correctly evaluate domestic demands to adjust production plans, adding: “Businesses must not discriminate against foreign markets.” — VNS
