HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The Shanghai International Children Baby Maternity Industry Expo (CBME China 2015), the world's largest sourcing event for baby and maternity items , opens in China in July 22

The three-day event at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre features nearly 2,150 suppliers representing 2,836 brands with around 30 per cent of them being top international ones.

"We have seen increased participation from overseas companies. The international and regional pavilions have increased by 39 per cent in exhibition space this year," Athena Gong, CBME general manager, said.

"Due to the significant increase, CBME China 2015 has had to increase its exhibition space to 205,000 square metes to meet the industry demand."

The products on display cover a full range of children, baby and maternity products from healthcare to food, strollers and toys, clothing and accessories, and services.

"As CBME China celebrates its 15th anniversary, the event will be filled with more activities and initiatives for all industry attendees," Athena said.

Over 80,000 baby product trade buyers are expected to attend the event whose highlights include the Cool Kids Fashion Shanghai 2015 and top international and regional pavilions.

International pavilions have attracted over 700 brands from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the UK, and the US. These baby product makers and suppliers will showcase their latest innovations and best products at the exhibition.

On its first appearance, Czech Trade will bring its top brands like Bino, Little Angel, Mertens, and XKKO to showcase at the Czech Republic pavilion.

China is now the world's second largest consumer of baby products after only the US. More and more companies now see the value of being in the China baby products market, according to a recent survey by the Beijing Answer Research company.

Another activity at this year's expo event is a charity sale in which 40 exhibiting companies will participate. All proceeds from the three-day sales will go to support children with autism.

Held annually, CBME China has been a perfect business platform for children, baby and maternity product buyers, retailers, manufacturers, distributors and suppliers to meet and do business at one venue. — VNS
