The Viet Nam Vegetable Oil Industry Corporation (Vocarimex) reported it had reached its 2017 target in profit of VND201 billion (US$8.8 million) after paying corporate income tax for the first three quarters of the year.
The figure last year during the same period, however, was nearly VND290 billion ($12.7 million).
Vocarimex also posted a revenue of VND3.1 trillion ($135 million) in the first nine months, declining by 22.5 per cent year-on-year.
The company attributed the decline to the withdrawal of part of its shares from Tuong An Vegetable Oil Company.
Vocarimex said it had focused on wholesale and industrial customers to increase the yield.
The company said it would continue to develop industrial customers and expand export markets.
Vocarimex was established in 1976. It is now a member of Kido Group, a food corporation. — VNS
