On Wednesday, Vingroup affiliate VinCommerce and Australia-based XAct Solutions Company signed a co-operation contract to develop an international-standard supply chain for VinCommerce.
This contract is expected to help VinCommerce become one of the leading retailers in the Asia Pacific region in the future.
Under the contract, the two sides will collaborate to build the foundation of the supply chain and introduce advanced solutions. The project will start with the development of six warehouses to store all of the products in the VinCommerce system and act as distribution hubs.
Each large warehouse will have dry, cool, cold and freezer storage areas to strictly comply with international standards of goods preservation.
The just-in-time delivery model will allow VinCommerce to provide products efficiently for its entire system of nearly 2,500 points of sale nationwide. The information technology system will be central to the project, employing big data to manage the goods supply chain effectively. The two firms will work together to develop the system.
The project should reduce operating costs for VinCommerce, guaranteeing customers have access to the highest quality goods at reasonable prices.
Byron Patching, co-founder of XAct Solutions, said the VinCommerce retail system is developing quickly.
After completing the supply network, VinCommerce will promote the retail business of its brands. It will become the first Vietnamese retail business to own an environmentally friendly complete system from operation to goods management, asset management, transportation method optimisation and optimal spending. — VNS
