Viettel has recently made waves at the 2024 International Business Awards (IBA 2024), winning 14 awards.
Viettel won six golds, five silvers and three bronze awards, bringing the total number of IBA awards that Viettel has won since 2016 to nearly 100.
With over 3,600 entries from 63 countries and territories, Viettel’s products have increasingly gained recognition from a world-class judging panel composed of experts from industry giants, including Google, IBM, Salesforce and Apple.
Viettel's six gold awards span a wide range of fields including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning and various business and operational activities.
The company's AI products achieved a double gold win, with the Virtual Assistant recognised in the 'AI/Machine Learning Solution' category and Viettel eKYC honoured in the 'Identity Security and Access Solution' category.
Currently, Viettel's Virtual Assistant is used by Government ministries, provincial and municipal authorities and financial institutions.
Viettel's eKYC technology has been awarded the international ISO 30107-3 certification for facial recognition (FaceID) at Level 2 - the highest level globally, on par with leading companies, including Microsoft, Amazon and SenseTime (China's largest AI company).
In addition to its technological products, Viettel was honoured with a gold award in logistics, communications and marketing. Lumitel (Viettel Burundi) was named Company of the Year in Telecommunications. After over a decade of operations, Lumitel now holds a 64 per cent market share with over five million customers, establishing itself as a leading network provider in Burundi. — VNS
