Viettel Post and the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) on Thursday in Hà Nội signed a strategic cooperation agreement in the fields of logistics, investment and commerce.

This activity is part of Viettel Post's strategy to build a national logistics infrastructure and promote cross-border trade.

The signing took place under the Việt Nam - Korea Trade Exchange Forum for Southeast Asia and the Pacific jointly organised by Viettel Post, in collaboration with the Military Economic Department and the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea, KOIMA and the Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOITRA).

KOIMA acts as the main connector for South Korean logistics businesses to co-operate with Viettel Post in building the Việt Nam – South Korea logistics network, serving as a bridge to facilitate the smooth circulation of goods across the countries through various modes of transportation (air, sea). KOIMA also supports Viettel Post in opening representative offices and branches in South Korea. Both parties also collaborate in building exclusive distribution channels for high-quality South Korean products based on the e-commerce platform developed by Viettel Post to supply goods to Vietnamese consumers at competitive prices and guaranteed quality standards.

Hoàng Trung Thành, CEO of Viettel Post, said: "Logistics infrastructure and delivery services are the main bridges serving international trade. Viettel Post, as one of the four pillars of development in Viettel Group, has identified its strategic task to actively implement the construction of national logistics infrastructure, contributing to the goal that by 2030, Việt Nam will become a logistics hub connecting ASEAN and the world.

"In this regard, the co-operation between Viettel Post and KOIMA, as well as South Korean businesses, will open up a space for significant collaboration and trade. At the same time, Viettel Post also plays a role in building a seamless logistics system connecting cross-border trade, enhancing the position of Vietnamese goods in the South Korean and global market".

Kim Byung-kwan, President of the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA), said: “In recent years, we have played a role not only in promoting the South Korean economy but also in contributing to addressing the global trade imbalance. KOIMA values the opportunity to collaborate with one of Việt Nam's leading companies in logistics and trade, such as Viettel Post. Viettel Post's participation in the supply chain will serve as a guarantee for businesses wishing to penetrate the South Korean market.” — VNS
