Cẩm Phả Cement JSC and Vicem Hạ Long Cement JSC jointly signed a cooperation agreement on exporting cement and clinker to South Africa.

It is expected that the two will start the export of industrial PCB40 cement orders to the African market in October this year, with an output of 40,000 tonnes.

Cẩm Phả Cement will supply 20,000 tonnes and Vicem Hạ Long will also supply 20,000 tonnes.

The signing of the agreement between the two companies brings together two separate strengths, creating a mutually beneficial business.

Both expect that this cooperation will continuously expand and become stronger over time, with the goal of deploying larger orders to other international markets.

Cẩm Phả Cement JSC owns a cement factory with a capacity of 2.3 million tonnes of cement per year in Quảng Ninh and Cẩm Phả Cement Grinding Station in Mỹ Xuân A Industrial Park, Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu province.

Vicem Hạ Long has a factory in Hạ Long, Quảng Ninh and a grinding station located in Hiệp Phước Industrial Park in HCM City.

In the context of declining domestic cement consumption, due to the sluggish local real estate market and export difficulties due to China reducing imports from Việt Nam, manufacturers are looking for export orders and outlets elsewhere to help accelerate output.

The total exports for the cement industry reached 20.5 million tonnes in the first eight months of this year, US$790 million, down 3.5 per cent in volume and 14.4 per cent in value compared to the same period last year. — VNS
