SEOUL (Biz Hub) — VietJet celebrated its growing relationship with South Korea during a ceremony in Seoul on Wednesday.
Attending the ceremony were the General Secretary of Viet Nam, Nguyen Phu Trong, who had been invited by the President of South Korea, Park Geun Hye, along with Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai.
South Korea is the latest country to be introduced to VietJet's combination of high-quality flights and low-cost fares, while transporting passengers on its modern fleet.
The airline has already opened direct routes from Incheon, Seoul to Da Nang and Ha Noi, and VietJet officials announced at the ceremony that they would launch a new flight connecting Busan with Ha Noi in the near future.
Vietjet is also looking to add a direct flight from Incheon-Seoul to HCM City to its network in 2015.
The daily flight linking Ha Noi and Seoul currently departs from Ha Noi at 1.45am and arrives in Seoul at 7.55am. On the return leg, the flight departs from Seoul at 11.05am and arrives in Ha Noi at 2.10pm local time.
The daily flight connecting Da Nang and Seoul takes off at 2am in Da Nang and lands at 8am in Seoul. The return flight departs at 11.05am in Seoul and arrives in Da Nang at 2.25pm.
The daily flight between Ha Noi and Busan will depart from Ha Noi at 1.30am and arrive in Busan at 7.20am. The return flight is expected to depart at 8.40am from Busan to arrive in Ha Noi at 10.50am.
"Travel demand between South Korea and Viet Nam is growing all the time," noted VietJet Vice President Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh.
"In response, VietJet would like to offer more flying opportunities at the best possible fares to meet this increased demand for travel between these two countries. To facilitate our expanding network, VietJet will soon welcome more new aircrafts as part of our order for 100 aircraft made with Airbus at the Singapore Airshow earlier this year," she said. — VNS
