Budget carrier Vietjet has begun selling tickets on its newest route connecting HCM City and Van Don Island in the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh.
According to Vietjet, it will operate return flights on the route every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday starting on January 20, 2019.
The flights will depart from HCM City at 7am and arrive at Van Don at 9:15am. The return flight will take off at 9:50am and land in HCM City at 12:05pm.
To celebrate the new route, the airline is giving away 2.2 million tickets priced from zero dong between now and Saturday. The discounted fares are available on its website at www.vietjetair.com. The promotion campaign is applied to all domestic routes for flights between January 20 and December 31, 2019, excluding holidays, Vietjet said.
With the aim of becoming a consumer airline, Vietjet has continually opened new routes, added more aircraft to its fleet, invested in modern technology and offered more added-on products and services. With a fleet of over 60 aircraft, including the A320 and A321, Vietjet operates 385 flights each day to 105 destinations in Viet Nam and across the region.
The carrier’s revenue in the first nine-months of the year reached VND33.9 trillion (US$1.47 billion), while its pre-tax profit hit VND3.68 trillion, up 30 per cent over the same period last year.
Its transport revenue stood at VND25.4 trillion in the reviewed period, a yearly hike of 50 per cent, and profit after tax was VND2.28 trillion, making up 76 per cent of its total 2018 target. — VNS
