Vietjet is offering 85,000 super-saving tickets priced only from zero dong between Monday and Wednesday to celebrate its newest routes from Phu Quoc, the airline has announced.
The promotional airfares will be applied for domestic and international routes connecting to the island in the southern province of Kien Giang.
The travel time will run from September 5, 2019 to December 31, 2019 for domestic routes connecting Phu Quoc to Ha Noi; Hai Phong and HCM City and from September 5, 2019 to June 25, 2020 for international routes connecting Phu Quoc to Hong Kong and South Korea's Incheon (excluding public holidays).
Earlier on Monday, the airline announced its plan to open four routes connecting Phu Quoc and Da Nang, Van Don and with Chengdu and Chongqing (China).
The Phu Quoc – Da Nang and Phu Quoc – Van Don routes will be operated from the end of this year and the middle of next year, respectively, with a frequency of seven flights per week.
Meanwhile, two new international routes, Phu Quoc – Chengdu and Phu Quoc – Chongqing, will be launched from the end of this year with three round-trip flights per week.
Vietjet will also increase the frequency of two operating international routes linking Phu Quoc with Hong Kong and Incheon to six flights per week and 14 flights per week, respectively, this winter.
More than 920,000 holiday makers, including 50,200 foreigners, visited Kien Giang Province in July, up 13.3 per cent year-on-year, a report from the provincial Department of Tourism showed.
During the month, the province's revenue from tourism services also recorded a significant growth of 43 per cent to VND789 billion (US$34 million).
Phu Quoc Island alone welcomed nearly 530,000 travellers, up 29 per cent year-on-year. Of the total, 48,200 were foreigners, surging 5 per cent over the same month last year. — VNS
