Vietjet on Sunday launched two new international services connecting Can Tho in the Mekong Delta region with Taipei and Seoul, the capitals of Taiwan and South Korea.

The new routes would pave the way for locals and tourists to travel besides promoting tourism, trade and overseas studies, Vietjet said in a statement.

The Can Tho–Taipei route will operate four return flights per week. The flights depart from Can Tho at 12.40pm and arrives in Taipei at 5.10pm. The return flight takes off from Taipei at 6.10pm and lands in Can Tho at 8.55pm.

Meanwhile, three return flights per week on the Can Tho–Seoul route will be available from Thursday. The flights leave Can Tho at 4.50pm and arrives in Seoul at 11.55pm. The return flight departs from Seoul at 2.30am and lands in Can Tho at 6.20am (all in local times).

Vietjet currently operates the most routes from Can Tho International Airport with seven domestic and two international routes.

According to Vietjet, once arriving at Can Tho, visitors will be immersed in the typical cultural features of the southwestern river region with highlighted activities such as enjoying local specialties at the Cai Rang floating market and the Ninh Kieu wharf. — VNS
