Budget carrier Vietjet announced its latest international route on Monday, connecting the central coastal city of Da Nang and Chinese Taipei.
The new route is part of Vietjet's plan to expand its flight network to provide more flying opportunities for residents and travellers, Director of International Sales and Distribution for the carrier Jay Lingeswara said.
Vietjet's convenient, frequent flights allow more than 3,000 passengers to travel daily from Ha Noi, Da Nang and HCM City to big cities in Taiwan including Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung and Tainan, he said.
According to Lingeswara, Vietjet will continue to open new routes to help connect local provinces to other locations in the region, promoting tourism and trade and making it easy for people to travel from their hometowns without moving to big cities.
The Da Nang–Taipei route will operate daily starting from December 19, 2019 at a flight time of around three hours. The flight will depart from Da Nang at 10.50am and arrive in Taipei at 2.30pm (local time). The return flight takes off from Taipei at 3.30pm and lands in Da Nang at 5.30pm (local time).
In order to celebrate the route, Vietjet will give away thousands of super-saving tickets between Tuesday and Thursday at www.vietjetair.com and on the Vietjet Air mobile app.
The tickets, priced starting from zero dong, will be available from noon to 2pm and will be for all routes connecting HCM City, Ha Noi and Da Nang to Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung between October 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020. — VNS
