HA NOI (Biz Hub)— Harnn Heritage Spa at InterContinental® Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was named Asia's best spa at the World Spa Awards 2016 in Forte Village Resort, Southern Sardinia, Italy, on September 5.
The Intercontinental spa defeated nine other candidates, including Spa on the Rocks at AYANA Resort and Spa (Bali- Indonesia), Conrad Macao Cotai Bodhi Spa at Central (Macau), Aman Spa at Amanemu (Japan) and The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Geo Langkawi (Malaysia), to bag the highest number of votes from leading experts, chief senior executives in the spa industry, travel agents, customer service users and the public.
The spa in Da Nang City also won best Spa Resort of Vietnam. It is the second consecutive year that the Harnn Spa has been awarded at the World Spa Awards. Last year, it was awarded the title "Best New Spa World" for its exquisite service and beautiful design.
The spa award is part of a new and dynamic awards programme since 2015, initiated by the 22nd World Travel Awards to encourage a new era of growth in spa tourism.
According to Sungroup, investor of InterContinental® Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, these awards are very prestigious and are known as the "Oscars" of the global spa industry.
Over the past years, Harnn Heritage Spa has continued to win customers' hearts with its specialized natural treatments of Asian traditional medicine. Each course of the treatment is designed and focused on restoring the natural balance of body and mind, bringing relaxation to customers.

Designed by Bill Bensley, among the word's five most renowned architects, the spa was built in the shape of a wartime military bunker with natural light reaching every corner, and furnished in the Noguchi style marble, based on straight lines and curves, The treatment rooms offer open Jacuzzi tubs so that customers can enjoy the sea and the greenery of the Son Tra Peninsula during their treatment. Sungroup said the spa is meant to be a paradise for relaxation in a harmonious space.
