HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Canon Marketing Viet Nam has officially joined the commercial photo-printing business in Viet Nam with the introduction of its Dream Labo 5000 commercial inkjet printer.

The company on Thursday announced that the first Dream Labo 5000 printer in Southeast Asia was purchased by Amazing Photo Printing (APP), a premium digital-photo company.

A representative of APP told bizhub.vn that the machine cost US$500,000, including fees for operating the machine. The printing paper is imported from Germany.

Under an agreement signed with Canon, APP will be the sole agent in Viet Nam to supply photo prints from the machine for 1.5 years.

Only 50 machines have been sold worldwide, and most of them are in the EU and Japan, the company said.

Dream Labo 5000 aims to cater to the needs of high-quality wedding albums, photo books and magazine printing businesses.

Delivering a new standard of combined photo and text quality together with high productivity, the machine offers a viable alternative to silver halide technology. It is expected to revitalize the photo print market in the country, the company said.

The machine can produce 300-mm wide prints as well as 1,000 A4-sized pages and 4x6 single prints at 2,300 pages per hour.

APP plans to offer many attractive promotions of up to 50 per cent for professional photographers and the first customers. — VNS
