SINGAPORE (Biz Hub) — Logistics company UPS has named Nando Cesarone as president of its Asia Pacific operations.

He will have responsibility for more than 40 countries and territories throughout Asia, one of the fastest growing regions of the world.

Cesarone, a native of Canada, replaces Brendan Canavan, who will return to the US to take over as president of UPS Airlines.

Since 2013 Cesarone has been serving as president of UPS's South Asia District based in Singapore.

"Nando has proven to be extraordinarily effective at serving customers and building UPS's presence," Jum Barber, president of UPS International, said.

Canavan, a 33-year UPS veteran, has been instrumental in the past two years for growing the Asia Pacific region, including driving a strong China strategy, developing healthcare, and other vertical capabilities and establishing wholly-owned operations in Viet Nam. — VNS
