Unilever Vietnam named among Top 10 Sustainable Businesses in Viet Nam in 2020

Unilever Vietnam was honoured in the Top 10 Sustainable Businesses in Viet Nam in 2020, evaluated by the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) based on Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI).

This is the fifth consecutive year that Unilever Vietnam has won this noble title, recognising its pioneering role and outstanding contribution to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese enterprise community.

This year marks Unilever Vietnam’s 25th year of operation and development, a 25-year journey that Unilever accompanies and supports to improve living conditions, sanitary conditions and health for the Vietnamese people. 2020 is also the year that Unilever Vietnam completes its 10-year Sustainable Development Plan (2010-20) with three main pillars.

“As one of the pioneering enterprises in sustainable development, we want to share our experiences and inspire other enterprises to make sustainable development popular in Viet Nam,” said Do Thai Vuong - Vice President of Sustainable Development and Communications of Unilever Vietnam, Vice Chairman of VBCSD.

To date, Unilever Vietnam has achieved the goal of improving the health and living conditions of more than 22 million Vietnamese people; using 100 per cent renewable energy, reducing 43 per cent water, and no harmful waste in the factory system in Viet Nam; actively training more than 3.7 million women; providing a total capital of more than VND350 billion to support women start their business through the microfinance programme. — VNS
