HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in HCM City, the country's economic hub, is well known as one of the most rapidly developing universities in Vietnam.

Founded in 1997, TDTU has 30 undergraduate and graduate training programmes in various streams, with a Bachelor of Vietnamese Studies degree designed especially for foreign students.

The programme provides comprehensive knowledge of the language, country and people of Vietnam, including Vietnamese language skills (theory and practice) and both traditional and modern Vietnamese culture.

It has many new courses that reflect the social development and meet international needs.

The programme also offers communication skills, work skills (such as teamwork and event organisation), and extracurricular activities to help students acquire knowledge and self-confidence and integrate in a multi-cultural environment.

The programme has been designed to inculcate practical as well as soft skills, while its student-centred approach prepares students for a lifetime of self-study and self-learning.

Graduates of the Bachelor in Vietnamese Studies programme can easily find suitable employment in tourism, business management, diplomatic missions and international organisations that require personnel knowledgeable about Vietnam.

The graduates are also trained to interpret, translate, teach and research in Vietnamese.

According to a member of the TDTU teaching board, students of Vietnamese Studies at TDTU learn in a friendly environment with modern facilities and professional educators.

To help students achieve good results, TDTU places particular emphasis on counselling and student support. Language partners (Vietnamese student volunteers) help the foreign students practise Vietnamese outside class hours.

Students will also take part in free extra-curricular activities organised by the school.
