Swiss watch manufacturer Frederique Constant in collaboration with Tan Hai Minh Trading Co Ltd have launched two new limited edition watches in the Vietnamese market based on its successful Worldtimer Manufacture collection.
Worldtimer Manufacture has a dial with a world map image along with the names of 24 cities corresponding to 24 time zones, allowing the wearer to keep track of time everywhere around the world.
The company has made a change to the dial, adding Ha Noi and HCM City. The names of the two cities are printed in red, the same colour as the national flag.
Another highlight of the watches is on the back of the case: they have an engraving of the Dong Son bronze drum, a bronze drum fabricated by the Dong Son culture of the northern Viet Nam.
Frederique Constant Vietnam Limited Edition 2020 will have only 90 pieces, 45 each with Ha Noi and HCM City on the dial, said Bui Tuan Minh, director of Tan Hai Minh, adding that these watches are made for 2020 on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Liberation Day of Viet Nam.
They each have an ordinal number at the bottom, and come with a manufacturer's certificate.
The watches are priced nearly VND100 million (US$4,320).
At the launch in HCM City last Saturday, Tan Hai Minh Co Ltd, the exclusive distributor, donated VND120 million to the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund.
The fund supports school children from ethnic minority groups around the country, and its chairwoman is Truong My Hoa, a former vice president of the country. — VNS
