Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam has been named in the Top 50 Foreign Invested Enterprises (FIEs) in Viet Nam with the title "The Most Outstanding Foreign Bank in Viet Nam" in 2022-23 of the Golden Dragon Awards 2023 by Viet Nam Economic Times.

This is a testament to the bank’s strong commitment and unwavering efforts to support the sustainable development of its clients and the economy.

From more than 500 nominations, the award recognises the top 50 pioneers for their contributions to innovation, green transition, and the application of digital technology during their activities in Viet Nam, and especially for their environmental, social, governance (ESG) performance. Winning FIEs were selected in six sectors: manufacturing; digital technology and digital services; financial and insurance; infrastructure, industrial parks, and real estate development; education and healthcare; and agriculture, foodstuffs, and beverages.

Michele Wee, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam, said: “Viet Nam remains a key growth market for Standard Chartered and we will continue to invest in Viet Nam to drive commerce and prosperity. This is a great motivation for our team to continue focusing on our key strengths to deliver for our clients, stakeholders and the economy. We are very proud to receive the recognition by Viet Nam Economic Times and want to thank our clients and the Standard Chartered Vietnam team for the trust in our organisation.”

Leveraging the strength of Standard Chartered’s broad international network and in-depth local knowledge, Standard Chartered continues to contribute to Viet Nam’s economic development. The bank has stepped up its investment in Viet Nam over the past few years. In August 2021, Standard Chartered made the third capital increase within three years by injecting an additional US$120 million of capital in the Viet Nam franchise. — VNS
