Under the deal, Shopee launched a Xiaomi store at its Shopee Mall for selling the latter’s products.
At the signing ceremony, the company announced it would become the sole seller of Xiaomi Redmi 5 in Viet Nam.
The phone would be sold from February 7 in a flash sale from 10am to 1pm for VND2.599 million (US$114) compared to its normal price of VND2.799 million, it said.
Customers paying with master cards would get an additional discount of 10 per cent, it said.
It also announced a discount on all Xiaomi phones on the first two days of February.
According to the company, it will directly sell Xiaomi at the system and all phones are imported by Digiworld – the sole distributor of Xiaomi in Viet Nam.
Shopee is one of the leading online shopping platforms in Southeast Asia and Taiwan.
The company was launched in Singapore in 2015 and has been in Viet Nam for nearly two years. — VNS
