Dining at Saigon Cafe now goes above and beyond the fresh seafood as guests can experience an interactive entertainment integrated virtual reality media experience for the restaurant’s one-of-a-kind gastronomic journey.
With a focus on elevating both guest and social media experiences at its Saigon Cafe, a renowned seafood buffet restaurant in town, Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers has debuted an interactive Instagrammable spot with integrated augmented reality.
The augmented reality technology breaks the borders between the real world and virtual environment where the physical space is enhanced by virtual reality. At Saigon Cafe, guests can access AR technology by simply using their own smartphones as an overlaying visual with animation appears on the screen when guests stand in front of the 3D backdrop and scan the QR code.
More than that, they can also create movements for their own stories and share the animated video across social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Tik Tok.
Sheraton Saigon is the first hotel in Vietnam to fearlessly apply AR technology to connect with guests. To unveil the project, Sheraton Saigon introduces the first theme of the Instagrammable Spot named #FromOceanToTable – picturing a peaceful fishing village in an early morning with fishing boats with freshly caught seafood and the warm smiling faces of the fishermen.
As expected, the theme of the Instagrammable Spot will be changed on a quarterly basis with different stories and news.
In collaboration for this project, Sheraton Saigon has worked with SoWat Station – an art hub of young and creative artists who are pioneering technology applications for digital art.
On the launch, Julian Wong, general manager of Sheraton Saigon, said that the hotel aims to support the local art communities by creating a playground to showcase striking artworks with an extraordinary experience.
“The name Instagrammable Spot represents an unparalleled spot, where each guest can create their own story and become an exclusive content creator. By using AR, guests can easily produce a fascinating and interactive video and share with friends on social media,” said Truong Thoai Yen, the hotel’s director of marketing and communications.
Set at the Saigon Cafe foyer, the Instagrammable Spot is open daily for guests.
The international buffet is available for lunch and dinner from Monday to Sunday at Saigon Cafe on Level 1 of Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers at 80 Dong Du Street in HCM City’s District 1.
