Sheraton Nha Trang welcomes new executive chef

Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa has appointed Lawrence Tay as its executive chef to oversee the culinary operations of its five restaurants, bars and catering for all hotel meetings and functions.

Born in Singapore, Chef Lawrence has devoted himself to international hospitality, food and beverage for more than 23 years. He has versatile chef knowledge of multiple cuisines, from South East Asian to Asian, Italian and French that are sure to please any diner.

​Lawrence achieved his diploma in culinary skills at the Singapore Hotel and Tourism Education Centre before he started his culinary career in Singapore, where he began as a trainee at The Beaufort Singapore to chef the partie at the Orchard Hotel Singapore, sous chef at Resort Worlds at Sentosa, sous chef de cuisine at The Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore, and then he moved to Qatar where he is in the role of chef de cuisine at The Shangri-La Doha.

Lawrence’s culinary journey took him to Viet Nam in 2018 when he worked as executive chef at Vinpearl Resort and Villa, taking care of nine outlets and overseeing 200 staff members.

With nearly five years of experience in Việt Nam, he has worked for several hotels, including Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills and Wyndham Grand Flamingo Cat Ba Beach Resort. Before joining Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa, Chef Lawrence held the position of executive chef at Citadines Marina Halong.
