Samsung Viet Nam, in co-ordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), completed two consecutive training courses out of eight total courses within the support industry training programme for Vietnamese consultants.

Specifically, 150 candidates have completed the training courses held in Ha Noi and HCM City, amongst the 200 Vietnamese consultants planned to be trained over two years.

Upon finishing the first stage in 2018, from 2019, each training course will be increased by one more week of practice at enterprises, which increases the total duration of the course to 13 weeks, with four weeks of theoretical training, and nine weeks of practice at domestic enterprises.

These training courses are held based on Samsung’s highly successful consultancy procedures.

According to assessments from the consultants, the training course is fundamentally developed, in terms of practical knowledge derived from Viet Nam’s support industry enterprises.

Choi Joo Ho, President of Samsung Viet Nam, said: “Nowadays, Viet Nam’s support industry is aiming for major goals. With the commitment to develop with Viet Nam, Samsung is always ready to co-operate with the Vietnamese Government to enhance the competitive capability of domestic supply enterprises.

Three quarters of the programme’s journey has been completed, and I strongly believe that the graduates will become key factors to help Vietnamese enterprises grow, which in turn will open more opportunities for other Vietnamese enterprises to participate further into the supply chain of multi-national corporations, including Samsung.”

As planned, the last two training courses within the programme will conclude by the end of 2019. Following the training courses in Viet Nam, 30 per cent of the best candidates will join the advanced course in South Korea. — VNS
