Saigon Co.op, the country’s leading consumer goods retailer, was honoured to be the only retailer to receive the HCM City Golden Brand award at a ceremony held in HCM City last week.
Organised by the Department of Industry and Trade and Saigon Times Group, the awards aim to honour businesses for their outstanding achievements in building and developing brands for products and services associated with the identity of the city.
The 2022 edition of the awards recognised 45 winners in various sectors, including industry, services, and mechanical engineering, with 25 of them, including Saigon Co.op, winning the award for a second time.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Phan Van Mai, chairman of the city People’s Committee, appreciated the 25 enterprises that won the award for the second time for their relentless efforts to affirm their sustainable brand value amid difficulties and challenges, especially during the two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The city hopes that these 25 leading brands along with the 20 brands that won for the first time will continue to promote their brand values further, helping the city elevate its brand in the international market and build pride among the city's people for local products and services," he said.
According to Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Co.opmart’s Operations director, Saigon Co.op has nearly 1,000 points of sale nationwide and a variety of retail models, including supermarkets, hypermarkets, shopping malls, convenience stores and grocery stores; and both brick-and-mortar and online sales model.
