Saigon Union of Trading Co.operatives (Saigon Co.op) has chosen Vu Anh Khoa to join its board of directors and hold the position of chairman for the 2019-24 term.

This decision was reached by delegates at its first extraordinary general meeting of members in 2022 held in HCM City on June 17.

The general meeting also carried out the procedures for dismissing Nguyen Vu Toan from the position as a member of the BoD and Diep Dung (no longer works at Saigon Co.op) from the position of member and chairman of the BoD.

Born in 1983 in HCM City, Khoa holds a master's degree in international trade and a certificate in advanced political theory. A year ago, he was appointed by the HCM City Party Committee’s Standing Board as Saigon Co.op’s Party secretary. Previously, he was deputy secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of the People's Committee of District 10.

On taking over as chairman, Khoa affirmed that he would continue to work with Saigon Co.op’s leadership board, party members and employees to promote its traditional strengths, map out strategies and solutions to overcome difficulties and develop a new style and modern collective economic model, earning the trust of customers in the city and elsewhere in the country as the country’s leading consumer retailer. — VNS
